Where Should I Invest?
Is the wrong question.
The right question is:
What Am I looking To Achieve? Do you need more income than your deposit account or Cash ISA's currently gives you, better long term growth, higher income from your portfolio of investments or reduced volatility by decreasing your risk?
What Should I Use, ISA, OEIC, Investment Bond, Pension?
The wrappers are just different investment vehicles to get you to your destination.
The investment wrapper that's selected is not going to be the main reason for the growth or otherwise of your money. Whether your investment does well will largely be due to the performance of the fund or funds that you have selected.
As an adviser when we see the heading ISA, OEIC, Investment Bond or Pension we can garner very little information as to whether your money has performed well. It will only be when we see the fund or funds you are invested in can we start to investigate the performance. The wrapper name only tells us how your money is taxed and although this will have an effect on your money it is not the main driver.
In this era we now have more choice and better access than ever before. This means that pretty much you can access the same funds through any of the investment wrappers.
At Tailored Wealth Financial Management, being Independent means we can advise on any of the investments mentioned above as well as SIPPS, Structured Products and VCTs for the more adventurous
Creating a plan as individual as you are
We look at various ways to invest that will fit exactly what you need, if you worried about losing money we can look at portfolios with an aim of Capital Preservation. Perhaps you are investing for the long term and do not worry about the short term varitions in the financial markets. You may have a specific type of asset or place in the world which you would like to invest in. All of these considerations will be taken into account when creating a bespoke investment plan for you, along with the risk you would be happy with.
We also look at existing portfolios as it is not uncommon for investments to be of a much higher risk than you first thought and you may feel that you are taking too much risk or maybe even too little.
Risk Warning
Venture Capital Trusts (VCT) invest in assets that are high risk and can be difficult to sell such as shares in unlisted companies Structured Products should only be consideredif you are willing to take some risk with your capital. We will consider whether such priducts are suitable for you before recommending an investment..
